Landscapes
Inspiration for Barbara's landscapes comes from sights and sounds that capture her attention during travels as well as the outstanding beauty of Kew and Richmond, where she lives.
She enjoys painting and sketching outdoors, but also loves working in the creative atmosphere of the shared studios in Kew.
Some of her favourite subjects include the unforgettable sights of Venice, the solitary beaches of Naoshima in Japan, coastline of South England, architecture of UAE, fascinating bridges and parks of London, but most often she paints the hidden corners of her beloved Royal Botanic Gardens Kew.
When painting landscapes and seascapes Barbara focuses on the feel and the “essence” of the place, those few strokes that define uniqueness of the place.
She predominantly works with oils using brushes and palette knives. Lately she started joining her two favourite subjects of painting circus artists and landscapes.
